MENTORS: Our friends at ROCC continue to pair young asylum seekers with mentors. We hold informational sessions on Zoom every month. To RSVP for the Zoom, please email NYCmentorshipinfo@gmail.com.
If you know a kid needing legal help, either contact us directly, or send them to be screened at Metro Baptist Chuch, 410 W 40th Street, Manhattan on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 10 am - 3 pm. Intake for mentors and mentees is on Wednesdays, 4 - 6 pm at St Mark's Church of the Bowery, 131 E 10th St in the E. Village. And, to meet some of the SIJ kids to help tutor them for the GED and to practice their English, Roots Cafe opens their doors to the community every Monday night, 6-8 pm at 639 - 5th Avenue in Brooklyn.
